Chicago style has features of both APA and MLA; however, in the text it allows either parenthetical citations or footnotes. See information on OWL Purdue.

To insert footnotes for Word use References> Footnote>select footnote or endnote and auto number>insert.

A basic bibliography entry uses the following:

Last name, First name. “Title with Caps.” Journal Title Volume, no. # (year): pages.

Smith, Mary. “The Choices Needed Now.” The Journal of Future Prospects 5, no. 3 (2020): 27-32.
