The Clarkson University Librarians offer a variety of instruction services that can be tailored to fit the needs of your classroom.
Request Librarian Instruction
Librarians can provide instructional sessions in person at the Potsdam campuses. We can also provide instruction in online and hybrid class environments. These sessions can be tailored to meet your students’ needs. Topics can include using the library resources, accessing and searching databases, citing sources, citation management systems, evaluating information, searching the internet, and more. If you are interested in having a librarian provide instruction in your class, please contact us at askalibrarian@clarkson.edu to further discuss your specific content needs and to provide further information.
Integrate Research Skills into Your Course
What research skills will students need to be successful? Librarians can review class assignments and identify where in your curriculum your students will benefit from incorporating various research and critical thinking skills.
Support for Online Instruction
Library instruction and support services are available for online courses and can be integrated into your course Moodle page.
Guides & Tutorials for Instructional Support
Guides & tutorials can be created by the librarians to aid students in the discovery of discipline related resources. These guides and tutorials also offer resources and information on research skills and concepts needed. Librarians can work with instructors to create these guides and tutorials tailored to a specific course. These guides and tutorials can be linked to from your course Moodle page. Additionally, Librarians create more general instructional videos which can be utilized in the classroom or online.
