The mission of the Development Authority of the North Country is to serve the common interests of Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence Counties by providing technical services and infrastructure, which will enhance economic opportunities in the region and promote the health and well-being of its communities. The Authority operates as a revenue-based public benefit corporation, independent of state operational funding. An unpaid 13-member Board of Directors sets the policy and strategic direction of the Authority, which is then implemented by executive management and staff.

The North Country Chamber of Commerce is a regional chamber serving Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Hamilton and northern Warren Counties in New York State and southern Quebec. With more than 3,200 members, it is the largest business and economic development alliance in northern New York and one of the five largest chambers in the state. Our many services and activities include the following; economic development, small business support, government affairs, Quebec-New York relations, health insurance, tourism promotion and development, industrial support services, and much more. 

NYSSTLC is housed in the Syracuse University College of Law’s Innovation Law Center (ILC). Established in 1990 as the Technology Commercialization Law Program, ILC was the first law program of its kind in the country to combine science and technology development with practical legal analysis, research on intellectual property law, and hands-on experience for students.

As the operator of the Ogdensburg-Prescott International Bridge to Canada, the Ogdensburg Bridge & Port Authority is the gateway to the U.S. & Canadian Markets in New York’s North Country. While remaining self-sustaining, the Authority creates sound economic business development through the promotion of buildings, river, road, rail, and air transportation. This is accomplished by providing exceptional customer service, safe and secure facilities, responsible environmental stewardship, and focused professionalism. 

Through presentations and other mechanisms, Point Positive facilitates the introduction of entrepreneurs to its member angel investors who decide on an individual basis as to whether or not they want to invest in a deal. Underlying this process are Point Positive’s efforts to help promote and foster an entrepreneurial ecosystem within the Region through partnerships with area colleges and universities such as Clarkson, NCCC, Paul Smiths, Hamilton, Colgate, SUNY Plattsburgh and more, economic development organizations, other angel groups and venture capital funds, and more.
