About the Artist

Tillier Wesley’s graceful art reflects the poignant beauty of a heritage all but lost to the world. One of perhaps just a handful of full-blooded descendants of the Creek Indian tribe, Wesley’s paintings serve a dual purpose: they are the expressions of gifted and increasingly popular talent, and they represent the artist’s attempt to reclaim a legacy. A man who is at once at peace with himself and yet striving to assert his unique tribal heritage, Tillier Wesley has emerged as a singular American Artistic voice. Working in acrylics or sometimes caseins, Wesley begins by sketching and drawing his subject in great detail. then working a painting to achieve his end result. He typically uses small brushes and fine strokes to achieve the elaborate renditions of Indian clothing, headdresses and weaponry. Tillier’s award winning images command attention and his meticulous detail captures the viewer’s eye.
