About the Artist
Inspired by his father, Bill, a woodcarver and jewelry designer, and his mother, Marie Romero Cash, a carver of wooden saints, he both paints and carves figures but does not call them kachinas. He does contemporary, often sarcastic depictions of Hopi images, which have caused him conflict with his own tribe. In October, 1998, he had a special exhibit of his work at the Turquoise Tortoise Gallery in Sedona.
