About the Artist

(Born 1972, Hopi) “Arlo Namingha, the son of artist Dan Namingha, grew up in San Juan Pueblo in New Mexico. Since the early 1990s Arlo has been manager of the family gallery in Santa Fe New Mexico.

Arlo began his artistic career carving Kachina dolls on commission. After tiring of the traditional form, Arlo began to experiment with style. He enlarged, and simplified the figures and used less paint. Arlo eventually began using a variety of woods and became more minimalist. He eventually turned to clay and began casting his figures and abstract designs in bronze.

Arlo’s work has been shown in galleries in New York, Santa Fe and San Antonio.” taken from AskArt.com
