Graduate Students

Our research is in the tissue engineering and regenerative medicine fields, which are highly interdisciplinary. As such, the Almeida Lab welcomes prospective graduate students with a range of backgrounds including Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Biology, or Chemistry. Our graduate students participate in the following Graduate Programs:
Chemical Engineering Ph.D.
Materials Science and Engineering Ph.D.
Interdisciplinary Bioscience and Biotechnology Ph.D.

Admission to the lab is a two step process. The first step for prospective graduate students is to apply to the university/program. Only students admitted to Clarkson University PhD programs are considered for potential openings within the group. Once you are admitted, please email to Professor Almeida:

  • Updated CV (including GPAs and names/contact information for 3 references)
  • Cover letter expressing interest and fit, background, and research goals

Undergraduate Students

For current Clarkson University undergraduate students who are interested in summer or academic year research, please email to Professor Almeida:

We are looking for students who are interested in continuing research in the lab for multiple semesters/summers. We are also interested in students who may wish to continue their studies as graduate students. Available positions for undergraduate researchers in the lab are constantly changing, so please reach out if you are interested! Even if we don’t have any openings now, we will in the future.
