The Almeida Lab, located in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Clarkson University, focuses on the design and synthesis of advanced biomaterials to control stem cell behavior. We apply concepts from organic chemistry, materials science, engineering, and stem cell biology to develop these biomaterials both to address fundamental science questions, such as elucidating the molecular and genetic mechanisms behind certain stem cell behaviors, as well as to develop translational, clinically-relevant biomaterial-stem cell therapies.
