Dr. Almeida travels to the 2024 Biomedical Engineering Society Annual Meeting!

On Thursday October 24th, Dr. Almeida participated on a panel for new and future faculty entitled, ‘Getting off on the right foot: Advice panel for new and future faculty’, and chaired the Cell-Matrix Interactions session, where she presented our work on “Matrix Stiffness and Viscoelasticity Influence hMSC Immunomodulation”, an upcoming publication by alumna Sara Olsen. Dr. Almeida also chaired a session on Nano/Micro Patterned Surfaces for Biointerfaces on Saturday October 26th. It was a busy week!

We are happy to share that the Almeida Lab has recently been awarded an NSF ERI entitled “Investigating the Fundamental Interactions between Mesenchymal Stem Cells and Hydrogels – Towards a Stem Cell-Biomaterial Therapy for Osteoarthritis”. Check it out here!
