The Quest for Truth

This is a class about truth, the search for truth, and our responsibility as human beings to understand truth. While this exploration is important in itself, it also underscores a paradox: truth is, often, very much defined subjectively. Often, those defining truth in a given context seek to confuse, deceive, or control, which places responsibility upon all of us to understand the world as it is, not necessary as others represent it to be. We pose three central questions: What is truth? Howe can we search for truth? And what is our responsibility in the face of truth? Answering these questions will help empower you as a human being, help you understand why education matters, and—one hopes—make the world a better place.
