Beyond the Equations: Your Secret Weapon
You’re at Clarkson to become a leader in engineering, business, or the sciences. But the world’s most complex problems involve understanding people. That’s where The Clarkson Seminar comes in. The Clarkson Seminar helps you understand people, solve problems with people, and above all, communicate with people.
A key part of Clarkson’s Common Experience, The Clarkson Seminar is a first-semester course required for all incoming students. Clarkson Seminar classes are thematically structured, and themes are interdisciplinary. This is not an English class. The Clarkson Seminar is taught by professors across the humanities and social sciences, including literature, history, political science, and sociology. The course:
- Hones sophistication in reading, writing, and critical thinking.
- Provides small-sized, discussion-based classes on big-picture themes important to life outside the classroom.
In August, you’ll get to pick a theme and section that fits into your course schedule.
