Tau Beta Pi

Tau Beta Pi is the oldest engineering honor society and the second oldest collegiate honor society in the United States. It was founded in 1885 by Dr. Edward H. Williams, Jr. “to mark in a fitting manner those who have conferred honor upon their Alma Mater by distinguished scholarship and exemplary character as students in engineering, or by their attainments as alumni in the field of engineering.”

The New York Theta Chapter was established on December 4, 1941, and has inducted more than 3,700 members since then.
