Welfare of Research Animals
Clarkson University is committed to ensuring the ethical and humane use of animals in research. Any concerns related to the care and use of animals in research at the university are taken seriously, and individuals are encouraged to voice such concerns. Concerns may be reported via the University Privacy Hotline at 315-268-6737 or by contacting the IACUC Institutional Officer, Nannan Dong, at ndong@clarkson.edu.
The university strictly prohibits any misuse or neglect of research animals and ensures that no individual reporting concerns will face retaliation. Retaliation or reprisals for reporting issues are prohibited under federal law (USDA Regulations and the 9th Code of Federal Regulations). If you believe that an apparent violation of animal care and use requirements has occurred, you are encouraged to present your concerns to the appropriate personnel listed below:
