About Dr. Yuya

My research areas are theoretical and experimental mechanics of materials. The goal is to understand the material’s structure-property–function relationships and the rationales that can be used to direct structural and compositional designs in order to optimize the materials to achieve superior or specifically tailored properties. Materials of interest range from super-hard (metal alloys, mineralized tissues e.g. bone, fish scales) to super-soft (including polymers and biomaterials) materials.
