Prior to Update:

Please remove unneeded files, back up any data you wish to keep safe, and create a list of software applications you wish to have re-installed.

Update Experience: The Windows 11 update requires the device to be re-imaged by OIT staff in satellite offices located in Snell or CAMP. All prior data and software is permanently deleted from the device as part of the Windows 11 installation. An OIT technician will arrange for pickup/drop off of your device.

Prior to performing the update, files in the following folders will be set up with Folder Redirection: Desktop, Documents, Favorites, Music, Pictures, Videos. Read more about Folder Redirection here. Once folder redirection is successfully confirmed, the update will take 1-2 days to complete.

Anticipate your device to be unavailable for up to 2 business days while we perform the update. A laptop loan is available by request. Custom arrangements will be made for those working remotely. Your OIT technician will work with you to make needed arrangements.
