About the Artist

(1952-2009) This artist received his BFA in 1971 at California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland.  Montoya worked as a free lance artist and designer, a layout artist and sign painter, a graphic designer, photographer, technical illustrator, poet and a painter. He worked in oil, watercolor, oil pastel, pencil and charcoal. Montoya illustrated The Traditional Bread of the Pueblo Indians. Montoya is cited in the Biographical Directory of Native American Painters by Patrick Lester.
