{"id":5,"date":"2021-09-10T17:45:15","date_gmt":"2021-09-10T17:45:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev-cu-sites.pantheonsite.io\/xshen\/?page_id=5"},"modified":"2024-10-10T18:26:50","modified_gmt":"2024-10-10T18:26:50","slug":"home","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sites.clarkson.edu\/xshen\/","title":{"rendered":"Welcome to the Multi-scale Geomechanics Lab!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Welcome to the Multi-scale Geomechanics Lab!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>At the multi-scale geomechanics lab, we work on multi-scale geomechanical modeling, Thermo-Hydro-Chemo-Mechanical (THCM) couplings in porous and fractured media, and the application of data-driven methods to geotechnical engineering. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A major focal point of our work over the coming years is to gain a further understanding of the microscopic properties and the THCM coupling processes that characterize the macroscopic properties of geomaterials. The overarching goal of these activities is to develop a rigorous and mechanics-based framework for predicting the evolution of intrinsic properties and the mechanical behavior of materials.
