This section of The Clarkson Seminar focuses on privilege and inequality within intersecting identities (race, class, gender etc.) with a focus on social class. We will be examining both theory and fiction using a sociological lens in which to tease out the complexities of the characters\u2019 lives. It is expected that you will learn the meaning of the terms and ideas as well as how they apply to \u201creal life.\u201d I will devote class time, as well as \u201coffice time,\u201d to explaining the material thoroughly.
