The first notification will be a reminder email 5 days prior to the due date for the ILL book. After the reminder, there will be three more notifications advising you that the item is overdue:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>3 days after the due date<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 weeks after the due date<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>6 weeks after the due date<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If the lending library reaches out to us requesting their book be sent back prior to any of those<br>dates, we will follow up with an email letting you know that you need to return it as soon as<br>possible. After the 6 week period, we will get an invoice from the lending library that the patron<br>will be notified of. The patron is responsible for paying the invoice. The price of the item listed<br>on the invoice is determined by the lending library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Patrons will be prohibited from requesting further ILLs if they have an invoice for a lost book that<br>has not been paid.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-advgb-accordions advgb-accordions-89e95f88-4a4a-4e37-a74f-0b25b22d860b advgb-accordion-wrapper\" data-collapsed=\"true\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-advgb-accordion-item advgb-accordion-item\" style=\"margin-bottom:15px\"><div class=\"advgb-accordion-header\" style=\"background-color:#000;color:#eee;border-style:solid;border-width:1px;border-radius:2px\"><span class=\"advgb-accordion-header-icon\"><svg fill=\"#fff\" xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\" width=\"24\" height=\"24\" viewBox=\"0 0 24 24\"><path fill=\"none\" d=\"M0,0h24v24H0V0z\"><\/path><path d=\"M12,5.83L15.17,9l1.41-1.41L12,3L7.41,7.59L8.83,9L12,5.83z M12,18.17L8.83,15l-1.41,1.41L12,21l4.59-4.59L15.17,15 L12,18.17z\"><\/path><\/svg><\/span><h4 class=\"advgb-accordion-header-title\" style=\"color:inherit\">Copyright and Your Request<\/h4><\/div><div class=\"advgb-accordion-body\" style=\"border-style:solid !important;border-width:1px !important;border-color:undefined !important;border-top:none !important;border-radius:2px !important\">\n<p>The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is&nbsp;<em>not to be used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research.<\/em>&nbsp;If a user makes a request for, or later uses a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fair_use\">f<\/a>air use, that user may be liable for copyright infringement.&nbsp;<strong><em>Clarkson University reserves the right to refuse to accept an order if, in its judgement, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please be sure you are following these<strong>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.copyright.com\/learn\/about-copyright\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fair Use&nbsp;<\/a><\/strong>guidelines if using material for teaching. Look under the section entitled &#8220;Exceptions &amp; Limitations&#8221;.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Rule of Five<\/strong><br>Copyright guidelines&nbsp;<strong>permit libraries to request a maximum of 5 articles,&nbsp;<\/strong>published within the last 5 years, from a single journal title, within a one year period.&nbsp; Should the limit be exceeded,&nbsp;patrons can pay a copyright fee to obtain their article&nbsp;or&nbsp;may resubmit the request the following year.
