{"id":78,"date":"2019-06-17T19:41:15","date_gmt":"2019-06-17T19:41:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev-cu-sites.pantheonsite.io\/foodwaste\/?page_id=78"},"modified":"2023-12-15T19:48:00","modified_gmt":"2023-12-15T19:48:00","slug":"field-trips","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sites.clarkson.edu\/foodwaste\/field-trips\/","title":{"rendered":"Field Trips"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The project activities are rounded out by bringing K-12 students on a number of field trips to observe a resource recovery facility in action and learn about the value of resource recovery and the benefits of food waste for energy generation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students from Canton Central School have visited the Cornell Cooperative Extension Farm\u2019s small-scale farm digester, where their own food waste is disposed, as well as two large dairy digesters located in Lisbon, NY and Canton, NY. In the Spring of 2022, middle school students from Heuvelton Central School visited the farm after participating in an afterschool program run by Clarkson students that focused on food waste and resource recovery. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to trips to the CCE digester and other local farm-based digesters, students from surrounding schools have visited the research digester at Clarkson University.
