The abstract often has a word limit and is usually one paragraph, but you might want to think of it as 4 mini-elevator pitches because&#8230;.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns are-vertically-aligned-top is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-top is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:100%\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Your audience<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The panel who admits or denies your submission to the conference<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The judges who will evaluate your submission, poster, presentation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The attendees who need to decide which posters to visit<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Typical sections<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Introduction:&nbsp; What real world problem might your research be relevant to?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Purpose:&nbsp; What was your research question?&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Methods: How did you try to find the answer to your question?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Results: What was answer to your question?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Mapping the needs of different audiences upon the different components, results in the following:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1-2. From Introduction through Purpose: You will probably need a couple of sentences between #1 and 2, in order to move from the world level problem to the more specific problem that you\u2019re trying to solve. These sentences should be written for a general audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. The methods should be written for an expert audience\u2014the judges. It should highlight validity, reliability and innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. The results should be written for the conference organizers. Some authors are coy about revealing their results since they want the audience to visit the poster or read the article.
