DESCRIPTION:Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training on a college campus teaches students\, faculty\, and staff how to recognize early signs of mental health or substance-use challenges\, respond with confidence\, and connect someone to appropriate support. It’s not clinical training—rather\, it equips participants with practical skills such as active listening\, de-escalation\, and how to encourage professional help. On campus\, MHFA helps create a safer\, more supportive community by reducing stigma and ensuring that anyone experiencing a crisis can be met with understanding and timely assistance.\n \nSign up by emailing Leah Alestra at lalestra@clarkson.edu in advance.
