Mental Health First Aid Training
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training on a college campus teaches students, faculty, and staff how to recognize early signs of mental health or substance-use challenges, respond with confidence, and connect someone to appropriate support. It’s not clinical training—rather, it equips participants with practical skills such as active listening, de-escalation, and how to encourage professional help. On campus, MHFA helps create a safer, more supportive community by reducing stigma and ensuring that anyone experiencing a crisis can be met with understanding and timely assistance.
Sign up by emailing Leah Alestra at lalestra@clarkson.edu in advance. The training is at no-cost to students and $50 for employees.
