2nd Annual Black History Month Sickle Cell Blood Drive

February 25 @ 10:30 am - 4:30 pm

In recognition of Black History Month, the Office of Access Initiatives, in partnership with the American Red Cross, invites the campus community to participate in the 2nd Annual Black History Month Sickle Cell Blood Drive on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 10:30 AM–4:30 PM in the Student Center Multipurpose Rooms.
Sickle Cell Disease disproportionately affects individuals of African ancestry, making diverse blood donors—particularly donors of African descent—essential to providing compatible, life-saving transfusions and improving long-term health outcomes. This blood drive highlights the critical role of inclusive blood donation in supporting individuals living with Sickle Cell Disease.
Appointments are encouraged and appreciated, and walk-ins are welcome. Individuals with blood types O negative, O positive, A negative, or B negative are especially encouraged to consider a Power Red Cell donation, which can help save more lives with a single visit.
Appointments can be scheduled by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visiting redcrossblood.org and using the sponsor code ClarksonU. Donors are encouraged to download the Blood Donor App and use RapidPass® to save time on the day of the drive.
All members of the campus community are encouraged to participate in this Black History Month initiative and help strengthen a diverse, inclusive, and reliable blood supply.
