MAPS: Sickle Cell Awareness

Join Clarkson’s Office of Access Initiatives and the Minorities Association of Pre-Health Students for a Sickle Cell Awareness Information Session and Q&A on Monday, February 2, from 5:00–6:00 PM in the Cheel Campus Center (Barben Rooms).
This one-hour session will feature Dr. Yvette Miller, a nationally recognized leader in transfusion medicine, and Dr. Lawrence Fialkow, Medical Director for the American Red Cross (Eastern New York Region). Together, they will discuss Sickle Cell Disease, the importance of diversity in the nation’s blood supply, and how inclusive blood donation practices improve patient care and health outcomes.
This event is especially valuable for students involved in the Campus Blood Drive program, those pursuing health-related fields, and anyone interested in public health, healthcare equity, or community engagement.
